FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if I’ve never fly fished before?
No problem. First time fly anglers can catch fish, too. We pride ourselves on helping all of of our clients enjoy their experience on the water, regardless of skill level. Being honest about your experience and skill level is important in planning a successful trip.

What equipment will I need?
Clients will need to provide their own valid Maine fishing license. Waders are also helpful for clients to have (depending upon the time of year). We don’t have waders to provide to clients at this time. Rods/reels and flies can all be supplied. Weather appropriate clothing can make the difference in having a comfortable time on the water. If you need help in this area, let us know.

Where can I get my license?
Residents and non-residents can get their licenses here.
There are many options including full season, week long and 24 hour license lengths. It is important to note that having your Maine fishing license in hand is absolutely necessary for our trip to move forward. Please let me know if you need assistance.

What waters will we fish?
Where we fish depends on many factors. Client input is paramount. Other factors include river flows, time of year, and species sought. It is especially helpful to have some flexibility to select waters based on current conditions. We have a number of sources giving real time information that can increase odds for a successful trip.

What is included on the trip?
his depends on the trip purchased. A full day wade trip includes everything necessary for a long day on Maine waters. This includes coffee, water or other drinks if specified by client. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided to keep hunger at
bay while in the river. A full shore-side lunch will be provided and often cooked on site. A half day or mini trip provides clients with waters, drinks and snacks. Please make sure to mention any allergies (food or otherwise) that might impact this part of our trip. One thing is for sure: clients won’t be hungry on our trip.

Can I keep the fish I catch?
We prefer to catch and release the trout and salmon that we bring to the net.

How long are the trips?
Full day trips are 8+ hours, half day trips are 4-5 hours and mini trips are a couple of hours. Time on the water can be impacted by length of travel to the specific river or stream. Please be assured that you won’t be disappointed or short-changed!

Where and when do we meet?
This will depend on the location and length of our trip. We try to find a mutually convenient place to meet.
